## Storage cost grows in a few predictable ways

The biggest Nubis Storage cost drivers are usually stored data volume, request patterns, delivery behavior, and retention settings that nobody reviewed after launch.

## Common storage cost drivers

* Total data stored
* Request volume for reads and writes
* Public delivery and egress-heavy usage patterns
* Versioned objects and retained old copies
* Incomplete multipart uploads or stale backup buckets

## Good cost hygiene

1. Keep old test buckets from lingering.
2. Review lifecycle policies early.
3. Separate archival and hot-access data.
4. Track large public assets and cache behavior.
